Puzzled by the seemingly endless types of relays roaming around?

Well you're in luck as we decided to take a look into 5 common relay types in order to simplify this seemingly daunting topic. 

Basically, many people see a relay as a switch. The main difference between a relay and a switch  is that a switch is operated mechanically while a relay is operated electrically. Although this is a pretty general description, each relay follows this same basic principle. Where things start to differ is with the smaller details between each type of relay. Cole Hersee Plastic Solenoids

Cole Hersee plastic solenoids are constructed of glass-filled nylon, making them extremely light weight and durable. They are naturally resistant to corrosion compared to traditional metal housing solenoids. These plastic solenoids are resistant to high or low temperatures (-40°C to 60°C) allowing them to be used in a wide variety of applications. 

Del City now offers plastic solenoids in intermittent duty or continuous duty.  The intermittent duty solenoidsare rated to 200 amps and provide a large amount of power fora short period of time.

The purpose of an automotive relay is to automate this power to switch electrical circuits on and off at particular times. However, the real benefit behind a relay is more than just automation; they also provide the ability to switch multiple circuits, including different voltage types, within the same relay at the same time.
